I’m a sucker for weddings. Any kind of wedding. Destination wedding? Sign me up! Local, traditional wedding with hundreds of guests? I’m your girl! Intimate City Hall Wedding? Yes, please!!
Lori and Mike’s private wedding at the New Bedford City Hall came at just the right time for me. One week before Christmas is busy for a million and ten reasons– but holiday madness aside, December is an extremely busy family photography month. It was so nice to get out of the studio, slow down and soak in this intimate City Hall wedding.
From the second they arrived, I could tell that Lori and Mike were thrilled to be getting married to each other and I loved learning about their story while we waited for their nuptials to take place. As a general tidbit of knowledge- any time anyone wants to tell me their love story– I’m all ears!
A big part of Lori and Mike’s love story is rooted in their love of their family. They have two children and they were heading straight home after their nuptials to surprise them with the happy news. And like any good parents, they ordered a special cake as part of their surprise. I’m sure the kids were thrilled!
Lori and Mike planned to round off their wedding day with a night out on the town after they let their family in on their secret. Before they headed out to celebrate, we got some great shots on the steps of City Hall.
There was something so chic and romantic about Lori’s three-quarter length gown and fur-collared wrap. It was the perfect accessory for this winter wedding. Mike looked very dapper in his suit- and the pop of color in his red tie was just enough to add an element of interest, but not take away from his stunning bride in the photos.
Like love, weddings come in all different shapes and styles. The common denominator is that all couples come with the same intention: to end the day married and get started with their happily ever after. And with an intention like that, you can never go wrong.
