When I got to working on this blog, I started reflecting on my history with this sweet baby’s mama. I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that I met Kara almost TEN years ago. I was straight out of college and had landed my first “real job”. Little did I know then, that I would have the opportunity to host Connor for a childhood lifestyle session in my photography studio about a decade after meeting his future mom! I just love connecting the dots on my history with clients. As most of my clients come to me by word of mouth, I find there is usually an interesting story to be told.
Back to sweet little Connor. Let me tell you, he was just the happiest little guy which totally made my day. If you ever need a pick me up, a chubby, smiling nine month old will do the trick! Kara even changed his outfit a few times, and Connor just rolled with it.
You might wonder how I keep little ones happy in the studio. Well- I basically let Connor get his hands on all the fun props. Truth be told, he was more interested in tasting all the props as they went straight to his mouth– but whatever works, right?
I couldn’t believe how many cute outfits Connor had for his shoot. Kara was totally prepared with some everyday outfits, holiday gear for St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day and even his personalized Bruins jersey! If you look closely, you’ll see his hockey skates are signed by Bobby Orr! I’m pretty sure any avid hockey fan would be jealous of this and you could tell Connor’s dad was super proud of his boy!
Sadly, Kara and I don’t work together any longer, so we don’t get to catch up too often. This childhood lifestyle session was the perfect excuse to do just that. It was a pleasure photographing Connor and his parents, but the best part is seeing how happy this little family of three is.
I hope it’s not another ten years before we get to see each other again, Kara! And I look forward to having your sweet family back in the studio.
